Boys Brigade

Welcome to the 7th Bullcreek Company!

Boys’ Brigade was founded in 1883 and is an international organization with the common object being, “The advancement of Christ’s kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.”

The 7th Bullcreek Company was established at Westminster Presbyterian Church over 30 years ago. Boys between the ages of pre-primary to year 12 are welcome. There are 3 sections, Anchors, Juniors and Seniors. All 3 sections run on a Wednesday evening (during school term) with Anchors and Juniors programs run together from 5.15pm to 6.45pm.

The Seniors program runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The program involves parade, drill practice and competitions, activities and devotions. Some activities include learning camping/hiking/life skills, project work, bible knowledge and sports activities. In the Senior section, the boys work towards achieving 2 major awards recognised nationally and internationally being the Sir William Alexander Smith and Queens Badge.

Girls’ Brigade

girls brigade logoGirls Brigade is an international organisation helping girls to develop social and leadership skills within a church setting. Girls Brigade Bull Creek caters to girls aged 6 to 18 years, and meets every Wednesday (during school term) from 5.15pm to 6.45pm (younger girls) and 6.30pm to 8,30pm (older girls). Activities include craft, cooking, games, excursions and camping – all done in a friendly, safe and caring environment. Girls also spend some time at devotions learning from the Bible.

Older girls have the opportunity to attend state and international events, achieve the Pioneer Pin and Queens Award, and develop further skills through the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Leaders in Girls Brigade are trained volunteers who are committed to teaching and helping girls grow in skills, confidence and service to others.
